This is part of American history I understand and was once the train men’s home away from home.I hope it is displayed in a museum.There is a saying “old is gold”.
This caboose UP25884 was made around 1982, so it is a ´late model´. Last I heard this caboose in Petaluma was air tested and allowed to travel up to 70mph on the UP system, but that was back around 2001.
Wow, I had no idea that they were making cabooses so recently. Thanks for your comment and I find it really interesting that it was in service as of 2001. I would think the dry California air would preserve it better.
