About

Hello and welcome! My name is Mike Harding and I have been travelling across the United States for most of my adult life. I spent most of my life guiding tours across the U.S. and Canada, and many of the photos you will find here are from those travels. Now, I’m taking some time off and doing some travel of my own. My plan is to spend a month in each state and see what makes each special and unique. I write about my travels on my website http://www.miles2gobeforeisleep.com and would love if you came over and checked that out as well. I also do a podcast on American History called American Anthology which you can find on your favorite podcast provider, or direct from my website. You can find me on Facebook here and on Instagram @miles2gobeforeisleep.

In this photo blog, I hope to capture images from all corners of the country as I travel across it and back again. Older photos were taken on an Olympus DSLR camera, but more recent ones were take on a Canon 70D. I edit my photos in Lightroom, and do so gently most of the time. My goal is to show you what I see in my daily travels, not create a photo that you could never witness if you were standing next to me. I don’t use Photoshop at all. That is a preference, not a judgment.

I do hope you’ll come along with me for the ride. My goal is to post a new photo every other day when I can. I hope you will enjoy my photos and seeing the country through my eyes. Please help me out by sharing, re-posting, re-blogging, tweeting or whatever means you choose to get the word out. I hope they will inspire you and others to turn off the TV this weekend and get out here. It’s a beautiful country and a beautiful world!

If you are interested in using my photos for personal use, I do sell high definition digital copies at very reasonable prices. If you are interested in using them for commercial purposes, please contact me for pricing. I look forward to having you continue this journey with me.

-Mike

    1. Thank you very much for your nomination Tina. I really appreciate you following my blog and your comments. I am trying to keep things very minimalist here, and generally writing as little as possible. Also I am on the road 24/7 so I don’t get as much time to bounce around the blogosphere as I would like. Sometimes internet is pretty scarce. I would love to be able to interact more with other bloggers, and be a part of the wider community and I hope that I can in the future. But for now, it’s the peak of the season and I am running on empty, so I have to stick to the fringe for now! Thank you again!

    Have a great day, 🙂
