This was an unexpected and fairly chilling surprise. When I visited Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, Alabama a few weeks ago (see photo here), it was decked out for their annual Halloween Sloss Fright Furnace haunted house. I didn’t know that and I was there really early in the morning for a visit. I turned a corner and came face to face with a skeleton dangling from the rafters. It took my brain a bit to catch on, but I enjoyed my daytime visit through this haunted furnace.
