This is Fannette Island in beautiful Emerald Bay on the south shore of Lake Tahoe in California. It was a super sunny day and I like the way the sun shimmered on the water.

Stunning scenic view.Wonder why it is called Emerald bay when it all looks like blue sapphire.
I agree with you from this photo, but photos taken closer to shore where you can see the bottom make the water much more emerald-like!
