This is the main building of the Shack Up Inn on the Hopson Plantation near Clarksdale, Mississippi. Once home to Pinetop Perkins, Hopson was also the test site for International Harvester’s automated cotton picking equipment. This equipment hastened migration from the Delta with people heading for opportunities in Chicago and St. Louis. Today, it’s a cool place to visit and a great place to stay.
