This is the ruin of the Old Sheldon Church near Yemassee, South Carolina built way back in the 1750s. Ravaged by fire, war and looting through the tumultuous history of the Old South, it is a beautiful and quiet site today. Spectacular!

Gorgeous shot, Mike. This place is famous and a photographer’s dream. Did you also go to the Cypress Swamps? (hopefully, not in summer!) I used to live near Charleston.
Thanks Jane! It was my first visit and I didn’t get into the swamps. Had to get to Charleston. But it was super cool. It is a great area – I used to live right up the road in Myrtle Beach!
